Initial Post

After years of planning to set up a blog and helping numerous women who wanted to learn to code set up their own blogs, I finally walked through the DjangoGirls tutorial and have set this one up for myself. Rebuilding this site became a priority after numerous stars aligned:

• I had some time off
• I needed to set up a MediaWiki instance
• My old OS (Ubuntu 14.04 LTS) was no longer supported
• (as mentioned above) I wanted to set up a blog
• The need for some small server space to get creative and play with
  • Testing modules in Django
  • Fixing the projections and updating the sources on my old Mars Rover map
  • automatically pushing files generated on my home network up to a web server where I can access them

This page is a long time in coming, and surely will not be the majestic source of pride I intended, but at least I didn't half-ass the blog this time.
